Blue Jupiter is a vocal band from New York City. Musicianship is an important fundamental in the band and three of the members attended Berklee College of Music. The group first surfaced when they won Oreo's "Milk's Favorite Jingle Contest" hosted by Randy Jackson from American Idol. Since then, the group can be heard performing their version of the Oreo Jingle. They later scored performing appearances at VH1's Save The Music Event, Breaking the cycle (an annual AIDS fundraiser), and toured Hong Kong. They also appeared as a featured performance act in the Harmony Sweepstakes in Chicago, D.C., and New York City, winning Audience Favorite and Best Arrangement two years straight. Aside from their a cappella performances, Blue Jupiter tours across the country. Blue Jupiter has toured in Asia, from China to Japan. Currently Blue Jupiter is busy scheduling their next touring season.
Blue Jupiter covers and produces renditions of popular songs without instruments. Ben E. King's "Stand by Me", Ne-yo's "So Sick", Stevie Wonder's "Sir Duke", Jeff Buckley's "Hallelujah", and Carlos Santana's "Smooth" are a examples of songs Blue Jupiter has covered. Their first album, Ear Candy, has a line-up of a cappella songs and one song with a light guitar accompaniment. Their style varies from fast bebop tunes depicting the joys of life, love and music to slow and sad versions of the same subjects. The group is currently working on their latest album, Golden Lucky.
